Day 3 of Seven

Meeting the Shadow

The shadow is not your enemy. It is the part of you that learned to hide in order to survive.

The shadow is not your enemy.

It is the part of you that learned to hide in order to survive. It may appear as fear, anger, shame, control, sadness or silence. But beneath its difficult face, it often carries an old wound asking to be met.

Light does not destroy the shadow. Light allows it to stop hiding.

Practice

Name one feeling or part of yourself that you usually avoid. Place a hand on your heart and say inwardly: I see you. I do not need to fight you today.

Journal Question

What part of me is asking to be seen rather than corrected?

Real-Life Action

When a difficult emotion appears today, pause before rejecting it. Meet it with curiosity.
